1/16/2024 0 Comments Lego ultimate millennium falcon![]() ![]() I feel like around the mid-2010s is when they really started ramping up their production on Adult focused sets.įor me, I think I got into Legos & model kits since I enjoy the process of building them & the knowledge that I'm displaying something that I built myself instead of just a piece of plastic that's already pre-assembled. There was still sets that were a good $100+, but were still kind of aimed towards kids. Really bummed I missed out on the Simpsons themed ones.īut yeah, compared to the early 2000s, there is a LOT more sets aimed for being display pieces. Been eyeing the Transformers, DeLorean, & Ghostbusters car ones as well. I used to be into Lego as a kid, but my dad was never happy at the fact I would rather display them once I built them instead of playing with them, so eventually just stopped buying them for me, so to have sets specifically as set pieces is really nice, even if they can get a bit expensive. I've been getting back into Lego in the last few years thanks to stuff like the Lego NES, the Atari 2600, Bowser, ? Block, Sonic, & more recently, that Pac-Man arcade set, which was also partly due to the fact a year or two before that, I got into model kit building. This year, I bought the Most Eisley Cantina, I have it mounted at an angle on a technic stand and displayed at the top of my desk. I bought the UCS Millennium Falcon at the beginning of 2022, and it's hard to express the joy I had building what has been a dream set of mine since I was a child. I'm always so impressed by how sturdy modern sets are designed to be, usually using some technic parts inside the build to bolt things down together strongly! The number of unique pieces that have been made in the last 20 years has vastly improved the level of detail and accuracy that these models can achieve, the level of building techniques than can be used, and the stability of the builds themselves. All of those sets are broken down in a large storage container in my attic.Īs an adult, it's staggering to compare the quality of the sets from when I was a child to what is available today. Anytime I got money for my birthday, or my weekly allowance, I was saving towards that next Lego set. I was heavily into the Lego Star Wars line from 1999-2002 or so. They're also the only remnants from my childhood that I held on to, to this day. More so than Power Rangers, Beast Wars, Dragonball Z. You can even spin the original Han and Leia’s heads around to reveal optional faces outfitted with air respirators.įans who missed out on the 2007 model still pay up to $3,000 in the rare occasion that one pops up on eBay, and Lego expects the new set to sell out, so if all of this news has you swiping everything off your dining table in anticipation, you’d better run out and get one as soon as it goes on sale October 1st.Lego was by far my favorite thing to collect as a kid. It comes with 10 minifigures, including Leia, C-3P0, Han and Chewbacca from the trilogy and Finn, Rey, BB-8, ‘Old Han’ and two porgs from The Force Awakens. ![]() You can even swap out the deflector dishes to either look as they did in the original Star Wars trilogy or in The Force Awakens. The LEGO Death Star fits in our yellow bag, but we have to apply wheels so shoppers can carry the next #LEGOStarWars set! ? /dd1d76B0W1- LEGO August 29, 2017Īn update on the last Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon, which was released in July 2007, this new set expands it by over 2,000 pieces, adding a stunning range of details that will delight discerning fans. In fact, the box is so heavy that Lego teased on Twitter that they’d have to add wheels and a handle so customers can get it out the door. A gift for true enthusiasts of both the toy brick company and Star Wars, the Ultimate Collectors Series Millennium Falcon is the single largest and most expensive Lego kit ever sold, presented in a huge box full of 7,541 pieces. You don’t get a sense of just how large and complex Lego’s latest kit really is until you see it someone’s arms, or taking up the entire table surface in front of them. ![]()
